Crime and Punishment Cocktail

reposado cocktail recipe

The heat of jalapeño cuts through the sweetness of summer peaches in this summery cocktail. “There is nothing better in the summer than a fresh juicy peach,” says Sean. “It pairs really well with some of the wood notes that come through on our reposado . . . [and] the jalapeños bring some spice and pepper notes that play off the agave.”

Active Prep Time: 2 minutes

  • Ice
  • 3 tablespoons (1½ ounces) El Ladrón reposado
  • 2 tablespoons (1 ounce) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Peach Jalapeño Syrup, (below), chilled
  • 1 slice fresh peach, for garnish
  • Salt, for garnish
  • Cocktail shaker

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add the El Ladrón, lemon juice, and Peach Jalapeño Syrup. Seal the cocktail shaker and shake until the exterior of the shaker is frosty, 30 to 90 seconds. Strain the cocktail into a coupe or martini glass, discarding the ice. Sprinkle the peach slice with salt and use it to garnish the rim of the glass. Enjoy immediately.
