School is out, the tomato plants are growing half a foot a day, and steadily, the mercury is rising – it actually, finally feels like summer is on our doorsteps. And with Father’s Day right around the corner, what better time to celebrate one of the best things about summer: grilling! Whether you’re working with a tiny charcoal grill on a minuscule back patio, a baller set up with all the bells and whistles, or just a good old fashioned campfire, it’s time to give the indoor stovetop a break and cook dinner outside.
That’s why we’re celebrating Grilling Week all this week at Spoonful! Expect lots of delicious recipes for the grill, an interview with the wonderfully titled “Dr. BBQ” (AKA pitmaster, cookbook author, and television personality Ray Lampe), an introduction to the new condiment you need for grilling this summer, cookout-ready cocktails, personal essays about family grilling adventures, gear round ups, and more. So, stock up on charcoal briquettes (or make sure that propane tank is full), dig up your grubbiest apron, put a six-pack on ice, and get ready to fire up the grill!
